Mike Maddin is a George Brown College graduate, with a background in both fine and casual dining. While at George Brown, Mike trained under renowned Italian chef Gualtiero Marchesi in Torre Boldone, a small town outside of Bergamo, Italy. His professional experience includes opening Baldaci's, an Italian restaurant formerly located in Aurora; two years as In-House Chef at BlueCat Networks, a software company in the York Mills Centre; and work as a line cook at two Toronto culinary landmarks - Canoe and Bloor Street Diner. These experiences inspired him to start his own catering company, Mike Maddin Catering Co., in 2007. Since opening the company, Mike has provided fine foods for a diverse audience, ranging from intimate dinner parties to full service weddings.
In 2015, Maddin Catering acquired the food service rights at the Leaside Curling Club, and the East York Curling Club in 2016.
In 2019, Mike and his staff began to provide full restaurant and event food service at the Queen's City Yacht Club, on Toronto Island.
In 2020, a company refresh brought the current Maddin Catering brand to life.
